When I saw the title has the word "Arabic" and the story is about an Egyptian immigrant family, I checked out the book immediately. I also recommend checking out the book because of the illustrations by Anait Semirdzhyan. You can take a peek through Google Books.
The book lists glossaries at the end of this book. Now I know how to spell and speak "Thank you" in Arabic. It's Shukran! Besides, "I love you" is expressed as Bahebek (said toward a female) or Bahebak (said to a male).
